What is Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)?
Free Linux RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) is a protocol or standard technology for remote desktop use. Remote desktop software can use several different protocols, including Free Linux RDP, Independent Computing Architecture (ICA), and virtual networks (VNC), but Free Linux RDP is the most widely used protocol. Free Linux RDP was originally released by Microsoft and is available for Windows operating systems, but can also be used with Mac applications.

What is Google Cloud Shell
Cloud Shell is an interactive environment for Google Cloud that lets you learn and experiment with Google Cloud and manage your projects and resources from your web browser.
With Cloud Shell, the Google Cloud CLI and other necessary tools are pre-installed, fully validated, up-to-date, and always available when you need them. Cloud Shell comes with a built-in code editor with an integrated Cloud Code environment that allows you to develop, build, debug, and deploy your cloud applications entirely in the cloud. You can also run interactive tutorials, open cloned repositories, and preview web applications on a Cloud Shell VM instance.
How Cloud Shell works
Cloud Shell provides a Compute Engine virtual machine with a Debian-based Linux operating system for your temporary use. This VM is owned and managed by Google Cloud, so it will not appear in any of your GCP projects.
Note: Your organization controls whether you can access Cloud Shell.
Cloud Shell instances are provisioned on a per-user and per-session basis. The instance persists as long as your Cloud Shell session is active; after an hour of inactivity, your session will be terminated and its virtual machine will be discarded. For more information about usage quotas, see the Restrictions Guide.
With Cloud Shell by default, you’re assigned an ephemeral, preconfigured virtual machine, and the environment you work with is a Docker container running on that virtual machine. You can also automatically customize the environment when you start a virtual machine to ensure that your Cloud Shell instance contains your preferred tools.
How does the RDP Work?
RDP opens a dedicated network channel to send data back and forth between connected devices (the remote desktop and the current computer). It always uses network port 3389 for this purpose. RDP also encrypts all data, making public Internet connections more secure Free Linux RDP.
